The Secret Service is about to go broke trying
to protect Donald Trump and his family

The Secret Service doesn’t have enough money to protect Donald Trump and his family during their frequent travels to Mar-a-Lago, Trump Bedminster Country Club, and other properties throughout the world.

Secret Service Director Randolph “Tex” Alles told the USA Today that there are over 1,000 Secret Service agents who have reached the maximum limit for salary and overtime pay.

USA Today quoted Alles as saying, “The president has a large family, and our responsibility is required by law. I can’t change that.” He’s right.

They are required by law, 18 U.S. Code § 3056, to protect the president and his family. The law clearly says that the Secret Service must protect the president, vice president, president-elect, vice president-elect, and their family members.

The only problem is that Trump and his crew are costing the Secret Service a lot of money. An example of this is Eric Trump. During a business trip to Uruguay with Eric Trump, the Secret Service had to dish out $100,000 for hotel rooms.

Now, imagine how much food, transportation, and those incidentals cost. Yeah, it’s expensive.

This, of course, isn’t the first time an agency or a government body complained about how expensive it is to protect a president who came with his own private security detail.

Last year after the election,New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and his crew complained that it was costing the city of New York a million dollars a day to protect the Trumps.

Welp, it’s more than likely costing the American people more than a million dollars a day because not only must the Secret Service protect the president, they must protect his adult children who travel internationally.

The cost to protect Trump and his crew is so expensive that “Tex” Alles has had to ask Congress for more money in order to keep the agency afloat.

The good news is that congressional members from both sides of the aisle are more than willing to oblige.

Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) told the USA Today, “I’m committed to working with my colleagues on both sides to get this done.”

And through his spokeswoman Amanda Gonzalez, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) expressed his willingness to work with his congressional colleagues in an effort “to explore ways in which we can best support” the men and women in the Secret Service.

This news about the Secret Service going broke trying to protect Donald Trump and his crew has left folks outside of D.C. madder than a gator on a hook.

Caroline O tweeted, “-Trump bankrupting the Secret Service and funneling $ to himself.”

Former Sons of Anarchy star, Ron Perlman, tweeted, “How fitting it would be if the Secret Service would just stop performing until the deadbeat pays. How fitting…”

Recognizing folks’ anger over the shit-uation, Secret Service Director “Tex” Alles decided he’d better issue a statement in order to calm the waters.

In his statement, Ol’ “Tex” Alles there told folks that something like this happened when then President Barack Obama was sitting in the Oval Office and that the agency was able to get through with the help of congress.

“Tex” Alles said , “To remedy this ongoing and serious problem, the agency has worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security, the Administration, and the Congress over the past several months to find a legislative solution.”

And based on the bi-partisan support, chances are they will find a solution sooner rather than later.
